Many times throughout a Christian’s walk, things come up that cause confusion, questioning, and unfortunately even doubt. Sometimes this results of something that they have read in the Holy Bible. For example, knowing the persons of Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost, and then trying to compare them to the Father God who (in the old testament) commanded many groups of people to be brutally destroyed off the face of the earth. This type of comparison can lead to a lot of conflicting reactions, which are then often exploited by the enemy in attempts to destroy faith in God. The question is, how does a confirmed Christian deal with this type of situation?

The Holy Bible is a large collection of historical facts, prophetic revelations, and the words of God. Un-countable generations have trusted and bet their life on the word of God. Many have given their life in sacrifice, to insure that you and I are able to read it in today. It is the most important book ever printed, the most important book on the face of the earth.

One must ask themself: "Do I believe ALL of the word of God?".

If someone only believes part(s) of the word of God, or picks and chooses what to believe, then a challenge against God is set up within their life. Not only mentally, but spiritually. Once that challenge is in-place, the authority of ALL of God’s word becomes harassed by it. Every single scripture is questioned on it’s validity, whether or not this person realizes that they are challenging it. If someone only believes the new testament, they are in a fallacy, because the new testament confirms the old, just as the old confirms the new.

The point is, in true Christianity, we must believe ALL of the word of God. If a person claims to be a Christian, yet chooses not to believe ALL of the word of God, they are not part of true Christianity, but rather the "new age" emerging "Christianity" that is plaguing the face of the earth.

So what about the times when true Christians are harassed and tormented with frustration, because their faith has been challenged by things that they read in the Holy Bible? Maybe they read about an act that doesn’t seem like something God would do. Maybe they think they found a contradiction, a flaw, something that doesn’t work or make sense. What about that?

Earlier in my Christian walk, I faced this issue. I read some things that lead to this type of reaction. The enemy loved it. He came in and started trying to lie, manipulate, harass and torment me into thinking that I was losing my faith. God intervened.

God taught me how to overcome this type of situation, and I hope and pray it helps you as well.

When you read something in the Holy Bible that makes you upset, or you don’t understand it, or it doesn’t seem to work, doesn’t seem like God, etc.... Stop and recognize the following things. You are a human being. You have a wonderful brain that can comprehend many things. However, God is the almighty. He doesn’t function within a human brain, He functions within the realm of all power, authority and glory on Heaven and Earth. God and humans do not function on the same level. In fact, God made you and your brain.

The fact is: God, His choices, His actions, His ways, His works and His Holy Word are not subject unto your own understanding, your own intelligence, your own beliefs or your own opinions.

Jesus Christ taught us: "Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein." - Mark 10:15

What do young little children do? Trust in their parents. When their parents tell them something is the way it is, they believe it, and accept it. They ask a question, the parent answers, it’s settled. They don’t go over it and say that it doesn’t sound right to them.

Therefore, our Lord Jesus Christ is saying to us that we need to trust in God and His word like a little child trusts, without questioning. In fact, questioning can and has lead to keeping people out of Heaven.

Pray to the Lord. Tell Him that there are things in the Holy Bible that you don’t like or understand. Tell Him that they are tempting you with questioning and confusion. THEN tell Him that you recognize and choose to accept the FACT that He and His holy word are not subject unto your own intelligence and understanding. Choose to believe ALL of the word of God, regardless of your emotional reaction, or how you feel at the moment. Ask and trust in Him to reveal the understanding you need, in His own timing, if He see’s fit.
