Shameful Yet Shameless

Living in a "beach town" area, I have to do a lot of "looking away", especially during the summer months. Some times when I’ve been driving downtown, I’ve found myself in the middle of a parade of scantily-clad women, wearing tiny two piece bikinis on the sidewalks and in the streets (literally). For a Christian man of God, it’s like a nightmare. There’s one bridge in particular that we need to cross, which on Sundays becomes like a promotion of some type of evil "girls gone wild" movie. Boats docked everywhere underneath it, most anchored next to each other in rows, bikini-clad women of all ages (even little girls) parading around in front of each other, hoping to be seen by the drivers passing by overhead. Usually, at least 90% of their bodies are uncovered, and the intimate details can be seen in full. Not only women; it’s also the men. Not only men in "thongs", but even the guys who parade around without their shirts on, trying to show off their muscles (and hideous tattoos among other things).

I understand that many people cannot see that this is a problem, perhaps thinking that people are simply "wearing their swimsuits" to the beach and on their boats. I also understand that some of the women (and especially younger girls) are simply ignorant. However, many of them know exactly what they are doing, and it’s the fulfillment of the end times prophecy about people "walking after their own lusts" (2 Peter 3:3). Why else would cops have to be assigned to patrol the bridge, watching over the "boat parties"?

What is the force that drives one person not to expose their intimate body on the beach? In contrast, what is the force that drives another person to expose everything that they can without being arrested? It’s the difference between good and evil, whether someone chooses to recognize it or not. This is one of the reasons why Jesus Christ builds, trains and empowers Christian preachers, to tell the truth. And the truth is? Sexualized, provocative dressing (whether it be a revealing swimsuit or anything else), fulfills only two purposes.

1. To fulfill the lusts of the wicked.
2. To wage a war of temptation against the righteous.

It’s not coming from God.

If you think that you are simply trying to "look good", understanding is offered to you here. This is not only an issue with swimsuits. It's an issue with all clothing. Ladies, as more of your body is exposed, wickedness will then use you as a pawn to mess with the minds of men. The wicked men will take you into their minds and hearts, and fashion you into a object of lust - often allowing their minds to run rampant until every form of abominable evil manifests. On the other side of the spectrum, your body will also (unfortunately) be used by the enemy to wage a war against the Godly, Christian man. He will suffer to keep similar thoughts out of his head, and only through Jesus Christ will he overcome.

To put things in perspective, think about what would have happened if someone had paraded themselves around like this (in the current popular sexualized manner), in the Holy Land, back in the old days... they would have been stoned to death.

Jesus Christ says "Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he [or she] that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame." - Revelations16:15.
