What Does That Cross Around Your Neck Mean?

I saw a man in the store who had his black beard twisted down into a point, over his head he was wearing a black bandana with wicked death skulls all over it, and he was intimidating people with his "don’t mess with me" look as he was walking around. RED FLAG, instant discernment that he was trouble. To my shock, when I happened to get a better look at the man, I found that he was wearing a black Christian Catholic crucifix cross around his neck. My question is, If this man has had an experience with Jesus Christ on the cross, then why does he dress and act in such a manner as to offend, scare and intimidate others with wickedness?

I know of an unsaved man who is one of the most wicked, sinful people I have ever met. Out of his mouth spews forth horrible wickedness, blasphemies, abominations, and his actions aren’t much better. He torments his wife and children. Yet, this man often wears a Catholic "SCAPULAR" around his neck, apparently believing that it just might save him from hell. A scapular is different from a cross, but the concept of it being used to save from hell is apparently the same.

Will any religious item save someone from Hell? Will the cross hanging around someone's neck save them from Hell? No. A cross hanging around a neck, on a wall, in a church or anywhere else could not save anyone from anything. The only one that is going to save anyone from hell and damnation, is Jesus Christ, taking their sins upon himself (while on the cross), and paying for them on their behalf.

When people wear a cross around their neck, it is suppose to be representational of the act Jesus Christ did for those who would accept it. A cross around someone’s neck is suppose to be a witness, that they know the truth of God, and have had an experience with it.

The honest truth is, when someone has an experience with Jesus Christ on the cross, they are suppose to become saved and changed. Therefore, why are so many sinners wearing a cross around their neck? Why are so many "Christian" women (daughters, wives, mothers) wearing crosses around their necks that strategically seem to fit right at or within their cleavage, with their breasts coming out of their shirts around it? Why do so many new age / religion mixing people wear and use a cross, then they reject the truth of God that Salvation comes through Jesus Christ alone (John 14:6)? Why do people who defile their bodies with hideous wicked tattoos throw in a cross here and there? Is the cross a popular logo? Is the cross an icon? What does that cross around your neck mean?

I know the cross of Jesus Christ. I know Jesus Christ hanging there, with MY SINS upon himself, paying with death for them. When I went to that cross and gave my sins to Jesus Christ, I was FOREVER CHANGED. My life, my ways, my wants, my goals, my choices, my movies, my music, my speech, my friends, my family, my appearance, my hairdo, my clothing, my LIFE changed...... permanently.

Anyone who makes the Christian proclamation by using or wearing a cross, yet remains unchanged from the pit of sin and wickedness, has never experienced the cross of Jesus Christ. Therefore I ask Christians and everyone else to think, what does that cross around your neck mean?
