Comfrey, Ordained For Miraculous Healings

Way back when God was making all the herbs, plants, vitamins and minerals for us to use for the healing of our bodies, one of the most amazing herbs that He created is "Comfrey". Comfrey has proven to be ordained by God for the miraculous. For thousands of years, since Comfrey’s healing properties were first discovered, it has been used for healing and health for the physical body.

What type of healing and health does Comfrey bring? Research shows that there are numerous documented cases where people have used Comfrey for the very quick healing of broken bones. Other known and documented healing effects of Comfrey include aiding afflictions such as burns, cuts, abrasions, bruises, ulcerations, strained ligaments, tendons and inflammation; it is anti-inflammatory. Helps gastro-intestinal, respiratory and urinary tracts. Helps with colitis, coughs and is especially great for healing wounds! Jethro Kloss, writer of the famous "Back To Eden" book, documented the use of Comfrey to help fight cancer.

What type of healing effects has my family received from the use of Comfrey? Well, the first time I discovered it was truly ordained by God (for miraculous healing) was when I used it on a horrible, tormenting canker sore in my mouth. Sitting in front of my bottom teeth, the sore would rub up against them, and the resulting pain was so bad, I could barely stand eating. After drying the canker and surrounding area, I applied Herb Pharm Comfrey tincture, letting it sit for a few moments. The Comfrey stung a little (because the tincture has a small amount of alcohol for preservation), but that soon resided, and by the next day (it was absolutely amazing) the previously tormenting canker sore was 90-95% healed; my mouth had nearly returned to normal!

I have also used Herb Pharm’s Comfrey tincture for relief and healing of pain and problems associated with Prostatitis, applied externally. Stubborn skin irritation and rashes have also been greatly relieved almost immediately, then healed. One day my mother came home extremely upset from the dentist office. The dentist had been drilling a small tooth, slipped, and torn open an area under her tongue, exposing the saliva glands. Yes, this is real! Miraculously, by God’s help, no major veins were damaged. Afraid to allow this man to stitch her mouth (which was a realistic concern that he might mess that up also) she came home. We didn’t know whether to go to the hospital or not but eventually, after prayer, she decided to start using diluted Comfrey on the wound, as it was not bleeding at this point. PRAISE GOD! Within just a couple of days of diligent use, the wound had closed! This was when she learned that Comfrey was ordained for the miraculous. Our family also uses Comfrey on cuts and scrapes, injured and sore muscles, bruises, and pretty much whatever need be. A co-worker has experienced relief from tendinitis using the tincture my mom shared with her.

Now these are just some of our own experiences with Comfrey, and I’m certain that there are Comfrey success stories even more amazing than ours! One of the things you will find with Comfrey tincture is that when applied externally, it absorbs and penetrates the skin very thoroughly, finding it’s way deep within, to wherever and whatever needs help and healing.

So what’s up with Comfrey? Why don’t we hear much about it? Why don’t people seem to use Comfrey if it is so wonderful? Well, considering that the enemy (satan) tries to destroy everything God created to help us (or at the very least - pervert it), it’s no wonder that this herb has been given has a bad wrap.

Comfrey is one of God’s most miraculous herbs. However, research will tell you that years ago, some scientists were messing around with Comfrey and rats, testing out one of the herbal components called "pyrrolizidine alkaloids". Through their study, they decided that these alkaloids can build up in the body, and eventually cause health problems. So, even though people have been using the herb for thousands of years, the American medical community put it’s foot down on Comfrey. Now, most Comfrey products are somehow mandated by the FDA, usually to say something like: "For external use only" on the package. On the internet, there are all types of warnings and fears about Comfrey, primarily due to FDA proclamations. So, does that mean that Comfrey is out the door now? NO! Thankfully, there are solutions.

You need to be careful with what solution you find, if you want to use this wonderful herb. For example, there is a product called "Comfree". If someone didn’t know that Comfrey is spelled how it is, then "Comfree" might actually deceive them. It says on the bottle "pyrrolizidine alkaloids-free". Turn it over, and you find out that it doesn’t even contain Comfrey! The herbal company put together other herbs in an attempt to mimic the effects of Comfrey.

Be Happy! There is one product out there that you can take without fear of the pyrrolizidine alkaloids. Herb Pharm Comfrey tincture is labeled "for external use" (apparently mandated by the FDA), but this company has managed to make a tincture that is apparently safe (in our opinion). I’m not telling you to take Comfrey internally, but what I am telling you is this: Herb Pharm has figured out a process to make Comfrey virtually pyrrolizidine alkaloid free. Here’s a related quote about how to remove the "PA" from Comfrey, published in a booklet called "Therapeutic Herb Manual", 2007 edition. On page 150: "The PA’s can be removed by a chemical-free process (ion exchange) which removes nothing from the extract but the PA’s and 2 - 3% of it’s minerals. The quality of these PA-free extracts is not compromised by this process, and then can be used without concerns about PA toxicity. To assure safety, only consume Comfrey, Coltsfoot or Butterbur extracts that are PA-free (i.e., contain less than 1ppm of PA’s.)"  

What is less than 1ppm PA’s? That stands for less than 1 part per million PA’s. Apparently, if you took a bottle of Herb Pharm’s Comfrey tincture (which is not very much tincture) and split it into equal parts (filling in equal parts) NOT a hundred bottles, NOT a thousand bottles, NOT a hundred thousand bottles, BUT ONE MILLION bottles, and then picked up only one of those bottles, which would have only a tiny, tiny possibly microscopic drop of tincture in it, and less than the amount of the tincture found in that one bottle out of a million would have any PA’s in it! So, do you need to worry about PA’s in the Herb Pharm Comfrey tincture? No! And thank God, because not only does Herb Pharm know how to grow it properly, they know how to harvest it properly, they know how to produce it, formulate an extract, and sell it to us, so we can indulge in God’s miraculous healing herb: COMFREY. It is amazing! 

I believe that Comfrey is one of the most amazing, most important herbs in all of herbal existence. I just thank God that we still have the ability to get Comfrey!
