Acupuncture and acupressure are both a popular alternative to conventional medicine. Both consist of highly complex point systems, documented and presented to the world by what is known as TCM (traditional Chinese medicine). For those who are Christian, you may be wondering about whether or not it’s acceptable for you to use these forms of treatment. In fact, many have asked this question in various ways... "Is acupuncture or acupressure a sin?" "Should Christians use acupuncture or acupressure?" "Is there Christian acupressure or Christian acupuncture?" "Is acupuncture against Christianity?"

1. Firstly, we need to recognize something. GOD (of the Bible) made our bodies. GOD (of the Bible) created us. "So GOD created man in his own image, in the image of GOD created he him; male and female created he them." (Genesis 1:27 KJV).  The Chinese people did not create these points; they did not put these points into our bodies. Pressing these points and receiving healing is in no way an anti-Christian action. After all, GOD wants you to use these points. He wouldn’t have put them into all of our bodies if He didn’t! The problem is, how do you find out about the points (where they are and what they do) without researching traditional Chinese medicine? After all, they are the ones who figured out and documented the whole system.

We should have no problem with people who are simply Chinese; however, religious philosophies and propaganda that is anti-Christian should not be accepted. For example, there is a wonderful pressure point located on the left wrist that helps relieve anxiety. I personally have used this point with success. Now it’s known as several things: "H7", which (obviously) I have no problem describing it as that, or thinking of it that way. However, it’s also known as the "spirit gate", or "spirit door". If you are a Christian, that should be a big red flag for you! Especially since not only is Jesus Christ responsible for sending the Holy Spirit, but He also refers to Himself as the "door" (or also translated as the "gate") to His sheep. (John 10:7). To believe that points such as H7 or any other point stimulates some sort of "spirit gate" is not only blasphemous against the Holy Spirit, but ignorant of the truth in Jesus Christ. So here you have a spot on the body that God / Jesus Christ created for us to press and have anxiety-relief. How innocent is a spot to press? And yet, under the terms "acupressure", this spot has been encoded and joined with blasphemous anti-Christ propaganda. Even if you are firmly grounded on the rock, a strong, experienced Christian who can easily spot new-age deceptions and is not swayed by them... THIS IS STILL A STRONG WARNING!

Acupressure VS. Acupuncture

Let's start with acupressure. Why puncture the body when you can simply press on it like GOD must have intended? You can do the work yourself, as it just involves pressing on points. (You can even use something like the end of a small paint brush or the tip of a chop stick to create a needle like press without piercing the skin.) What a wonderful gift from God, an internal healing system that is self activated.

Even though acupressure works, it does NOT GIVE credit to any of the false religious or false "spiritual" doctrines, or beliefs that are wrapped up in "Traditional Chinese Medicine". Remember, God Almighty (of the Bible) created us, and therefore he created our points. If acupressure helps you, give credit and prayerful thanks to your Lord God Almighty. Credit God instead of "TCM" or so called "chi". Seriously.

*If you have made the choice to look into personal acupuncture use to help heal your body, here is a link to a website providing tons of acupressure point information, with minimal association to any false doctrines: http://onlineartdirector.com/pointfinder/.
But also be warned about fear provoking messages that may try to deceive you with anxiety!
*This link was last checked out on 10.9.12. Websites often change, we are not responsible.

On the Contrary to Acupressure - Acupuncture requires going to a doctor. Years ago, I went to a chiropractic appointment where the office space was shared with a acupuncturist. In the office area was a false religion idol statue, along with information about the acupuncturist. That was enough for me to know that I would not be doing any business with that person. *Read the Holy Bible and learn what God Almighty says about idols! (However, sadly we must recognize that some people are ignorant in thinking that idols are simply art statues). This type of issue would make a Christian think they need to find a Christian acupuncture doctor. However, even if a "acupuncture doctor" claims to be a professing Christian, there is still a red flag up JUST BECAUSE they are an acupuncture doctor. This indicates that they may be involved in the "new age movement" (the mixing / blending of religions or religious functions). After all, if they have built an entire career on TCM, then they probably "buy into" some or all of it's blatant and hidden anti-Christ propaganda. This should be a problem for Biblical Christians.

Are you a Biblical Christian? Do you want someone sticking pins into your body, and at the same time thinking that they have the power to control or manipulate what they call your "chi" (defined by TCM as the so called vital life force of the body)? Jesus Christ is our strength and refuge! Jesus Christ and his Holy Ghost are the TRUE vital life force! Jesus teaches Christians: "Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also." (John 14:18 KJV). AND "Take heed that no man deceive you." (Matthew 24:4 KJV). So be very cautious that no one is praying to a false god over you, practicing an occult function, or possibly even a anti-Christ ritual. Obviously you don’t want anything to do with that, so watch out! *If something like this may have happened at one of your appointments somewhere, and it was against your will and against your Christian beliefs: read the Lord Jesus' words in Luke 10:19, and then in faith renounce it (formally reject it) outloud so the spiritual realm can hear it) in the name of Jesus Christ!

The point is, you don’t want to mess around. Even if a acupuncturist does not display or exhibit any false doctrine content (or talk about it) that doesn’t mean that they aren’t practicing it in their mind as they are working on your body.

What does the Holy Bible say about Acupunture? There are Bible scriptures that associate cuttings, markings, piercings of the flesh with paganism. Even if we did not have these scriptures, the Holy Spirit of Truth tells us that the act of piercing the body with needles is most likely considered wicked and abominable by GOD. He created the points, but piercing the body is not in line with God's will of physical sanctification. *GOD knows there may be times when using needles is a requirement (such as in the hospital with a shot, etc...). However, having someone who has believed anti-Christian propaganda, who is sticking numerous needles into a persons body, possibly hooking them up to wires and a battery, under the false belief that they have the power to manipulate the persons so called "chi", is not something that is Godly or Righteous. People who think it is should start praying to Jesus Christ for discernment (the ability to tell the difference between right and wrong).

The goal of this article is not to recommend acupuncture or acupressure, but rather to point out the TRUTH that God invented the healing points (not Chinese doctors), and to warn the brothers and sisters in Christ to be very cautious as to what they are getting involved with along these lines. * It has been noticed that there are spelling variations in the words acupressure and acupuncture. Some are calling it "accupressure" and "accupuncture", using "cc" in the mix, just for your information.
