// #EASY EXPLAIN: (John 14:12) WORKS That I Do Shall He Do Also And GREATER WORKS* 20K+ ↓↓   ↓

Jesus Christ says in John 14:12: "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father." This scripture has been greatly misunderstood by many. People cannot understand why Jesus Christ would be saying that we would do greater things than he did? It just doesn't make sense! Actually, this scripture is very easy to understand if you break it down and comprehend it properly. Let's do that!

1. Verily, verily, I say unto you
This is like saying: Truly, truly I tell you

2. He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also
A Christian who believes Jesus Christ, will do the same type of things that Jesus Christ did: preaching the Gospel, teaching people, praying for the sick. Let's get radical here: signs, wonders and miracles happen around truly saved, Holy Ghost filled Christians!

3. and greater works than these shall he do
Here is the big misunderstanding. Jesus Christ is NOT saying that we will do things that are better than he did. No one, and nothing has done works that were better than Jesus Christ. This is not what he is saying by using the word "greater" here. He is saying "greater" not as "better than my works", but rather "my works in greater numbers". For example, Jesus Christ once preached to a crowd of 5,000 people. That was a big deal back then! Now some 2,000 years later, there are wonderful Christian preachers who are holding crusades that can reach into the millions in a couple of days! That does not mean that the preacher is doing "greater" works than Jesus in the sense of them being "better", but he is doing "greater" works in the sense of them being in "greater" or "larger" numbers. I hope this helps with understanding it!

We also must understand that even when a Christian preacher does ministry work in ways that are "greater" then when Jesus Christ was on the earth, the works that this preacher is doing is still the works of Jesus Christ. As a saved, Holy Ghost filled Christian, Jesus Christ is still doing the works, only now through his servant. Without Jesus Christ, a Christian preacher would be unable to do anything for the Kingdom of God. It is Jesus Christ who empowers us to minister, preach, pray, etc...

4. because I go unto my Father.
Jesus Christ has gone to his Father in Heaven, to prepare a future for Christians.
"Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also." - John 14:1-3.
