// Jesus Gets In The Boat John 6:16-21 #bible* 4K+ ↓↓   ↓

The disciples were alone in a ship traveling at night on the sea. A storm came, and so did God...

"And when even was now come, his disciples went down unto the sea, And entered into a ship, and went over the sea toward Capernaum. And it was now dark, and Jesus was not come to them. And the sea arose by reason of a great wind that blew. So when they had rowed about five and twenty or thirty furlongs, they see Jesus walking on the sea, and drawing nigh unto the ship: and they were afraid. But he saith unto them, It is I; be not afraid. Then they willingly received him into the ship: and immediately the ship was at the land whither they went." (John 6:16-21).

The scriptures say that when Jesus was willingly received into the boat, it immediately reached it's destination. It says: "whither they went". The word "whither" means "to what place". Everything Jesus did was so awesome and so perfect, and his works have their own parables within them. This scripture about the ship on the sea is a perfect example.

Jesus says "These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world." John 16:33.

If we compare life to a ride in a ship on the sea, there are times when it's smooth sailing, and there are the hard times when the sea is so rough that we can barley stand it. When it's night, it's even worse. Regardless of the smooth sailing times, life is hard! Jesus says: it's tribulation.

There is only ONE way to Heaven:
"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father [GOD], but by me." (John 14:6).

There is only ONE who can help us interact with God:
"For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" (1 Timothy 2:5).

There is only ONE who can lead us:
Jesus Christ says "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand." (John 10:27-29).

The Holy Ghost comes only through ONE, and confirms / teaches only about ONE:
Jesus Christ says: "But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you." (John 14:26).

In John 6:16-21, Jesus Christ is proving to us through parable, that if we willingly except him into our life and truly become saved Christians, our life will reach it's destination instantly! Some will say; Heaven is the destination, but read what Jesus says about getting to God in John 14:6 (shown above).

It may be a bit confusing in understanding this teaching, considering that even after we get saved by Jesus we still seem to be traveling in life, and suffering many trials, tribulation and attacks on our faith (comparable to the night and stormy sea). But for those of us who understand about being truly saved by the Lord Jesus Christ, we can look back and realize that every single time we are in trouble, we have our destination to turn to. We have Jesus there with us in our ship, and he has been there to comfort us, guide us and lead us. He has been there through the hard times and the good times. He is our light, and our truth. We HAVE indeed reached our destination once we willingly accepted Jesus into our ship. For without him, we would just be lost and destroyed in the storm. Amen.
