Happiness is not always an overwhelming feeling we get. We must often choose to be happy.Our homes especially need happiness within our families.

Being a #JOY protector is going to take work, but it’s worth it.

- Figure out random things to say that are happy. Figure out things that are positive to talk about. “I sure am happy about...." "This makes me feel happy!” This will start turning someone into a more [positive person], and this will {help others}.

- Stop relaying bad news to family members, especially children. Weigh the factors on whether or not family or friends need to hear about bad news. They probably heard about it, but there is a chance they did not, and they may not need to.

- Conceal specific problems. There are certain things happening or going on, even within the household that certain members (especially children) do not need to know about at all, or for now. So keep it to yourself.

[Children are children, not adults, no matter how much power we wrongly give them.]

- Change the subject. Negative, upsetting, fearful conversation causes problems mentally, emotionally, spiritually and physically, especially for children. Adults may think children around are not listening, but they are, and it’s taking it’s toll.

So when someone starts going on about something upsetting, in between sentences (try not to be rude) just say something like, “hey can you believe this weather?” and get them going onto something else.

- Choose to be positive. When they are talking all about problems, don’t let yourself be taken in and depressed by it, but keep upbeat. Try to say positive things such as “it will work out” or “well this or that is going to work”... If it’s really bad, you can say “I’m sorry about this”, “I will pray about this”, and “good news is Jesus promised to reclaim this planet.”

- Choose to laugh. Laughing is excellent for the body. You don’t need comedy to get it going, laughing is it’s own joke. “Hey kids, let’s fake laugh!” And all start fake laughing loudly, and within a few seconds, you all will be laughing for real. This will make you feel happy, and flood the body with healing chemicals and make the mind and emotions feel like it’s better.

- Be sure to count your blessings.

Everyone is having problems, but there are so many, many good things to be happy and greatful about.

- Jesus Christ taught us to remain happy even though there are problems. "In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world." - John 16:33 KJV.
