// EXPLAIN: Who Are FEARful Who Will Perish? Revelation 21:8 #anxiety #fear* 29K+ ↓↓   ↓

"But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death." (Revelation 21:8).

Right there at the start: the fearful.

I can imagine there have been many people who have read this, then gotten fearful of condemnation, because they suffer with fear and anxiety issues.

But the fact is, there are different types of fears, and different ways to handle it (appropriate and non-appropriate).

In fact, there is apparently a good use of fear. Over and over again the scriptures tell us to "fear God". Jude 1:23 says that some preachers "save with fear", meaning that they warn the people of the hell and damnation that is to come if they do not repent. This makes them afraid (and rightly so!), so they choose to repent and change their sinful lives.

Jesus said: "...In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world." (John 16:33). He knows that we are going to face things that are making us suffer and torment with fear. Many of the Psalms were written by David amidst terrifying experiences his enemies were putting him through. I do not think it's possible for a Christian to live in these end times without having fears and anxiety to deal with! Jesus says: "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." (John 14:27). He told us not to be afraid, but he did not say: (don't let yourself be afraid or you will go to hell for it).

So therefore, who are "the fearful" who will be punished with the second death, and condemned to hell as decreed in Revelation 21:8?

A Few Examples...

1. Too Fearful To Reject Mark Of Beast:
It has been decreed by God that whoever excepts the mark of the beast will not enter into Heaven (Revelation 14:9-10).
We are also warned that the enemy will try to make the situation in which without his mark, people cannot buy or sell (Revelation 13:17). Now that's a scary thing! How will people handle this? I think it's more than apparent (because of how things are in this world currently) that even some people who call themselves "Christian", would quickly give in and take the mark of the beast out of fear that they cannot buy or sell. This then means they cannot get into Heaven. Therefore, they would classify as "the fearful" who would be condemned, as warned to us in Revelation 21:8. I'm sure that even though many Christians will stand strong and not accept the mark of the beast, they will still have to deal with mass amounts of fear about the whole situation.

2. Too Fearful To Be Labeled Christian:
Jesus says: "But he that denieth me before men shall be denied before the angels of God." (Luke 12:9). "Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels." (Mark 8:38). So if someone denies Jesus Christ, or is ashamed of him, they will be denied and Jesus will be ashamed of them in return. What about when a group of anti-Christ mockers harass someone? What happens when the harassed becomes fearful, and so they deny Jesus and they deny that they are a Christian? Or another example, a group of friends want to do some sinful things, and the "Christian" in the group is too ashamed to stand up against it, even though they know it's wrong, so they go along and do it anyway out of fear of condemnation from their friends.

3. Too Fearful To Overcome Evil Manipulation:
Then there are the lies of the enemy that come into our heads (whether from false training through media propaganda, or from an enemy that comes around) that uses fear to manipulate. For example, a chain letter email. It says: do this or something bad will happen. This is a lie of the enemy, which has a spirit of fear / seducing spirit attached to it. The Bible tells us that God has NOT given us a spirit of fear (2 Timothy 1:7). Thus, a right Christian will reject this chain letter lie in the name of Jesus (preferably outloud). Another will allow themselves to be overcome by the spirit of fear trying to deceive them, and thus they will follow the chain letter which may be leading them into something that is so sinful it can cause damnation. Even if it isn't leading them into a damnable sin, it's making some powerful proclamations spiritually, that an email lie is enough to control them. The fearful.

#TRUTH: Every single day the enemy puts various lies into countless peoples heads to try and deceive them off of their Christian path. These lies sometimes do not have fear associated with them. It may be coming from an evil spirit, but it may also be coming from something that the enemy created, such as a mad science fragrance that gets breathed in, and tries to hijack the brain and cause lust, hate and blasphemy. For example, the enemy comes and puts some sexual lust thoughts that are clearly defined by the scriptures as damnable sin into some peoples minds. One good Christian will renounce the thought in the name of Jesus (meaning they reject it), and try to get it out of their head while reminding themselves that they are a Christian, and will not give into the sin. However, another person (perhaps even someone who claims to be a "Christian") get's the same thought into their head and simply thinks: "if I'm thinking this way, it must mean that I'm this type of person". So they make the choice to follow after the sinful thought that came into their head, and they live it out in their life. The result, they commit what the Bible calls damnable sin. This is why the scriptures warn to be "bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ" (2 Corinthians 10:5). If it's something God has condemned in his word, we should not be doing it, and it shouldn't be the truth about us (as Christians), even if it seems like something we want.

4. Too Fearful To Be Single:
For example, a Christian woman who is saving herself for marriage. She starts dating an evil man in disguise, who she "get's hooked on" (even though it's wrong). He doesn't want to wait for marriage, he wants sex now. He threatens to leave her if she doesn't. Sadly, rather than seeing that he's an evil man (for no good man would have sex outside of marriage), she is deceived by the infatuation / love "chemicals" and doesn't want to loose him, so she starts fornicating with him. Fornication is defined by the dictionary as "voluntary sexual intercourse between two unmarried persons or two persons not married to each other." The Bible warns us over and over again that fornicators cannot enter into Heaven. She, out of fear has committed damnable sin. OR perhaps her husband has become an adulterer in body and / or mind, but she will not leave him, no matter what.

The point is, we all will deal with fear. Even the most well trained and experienced Christian will have to deal with this. But it's how we deal with fear that will effect our life.

Conclusion:
If people allow fear to cause them to do things that could destroy them (such as damnable sins), then they will be a part of "the fearful" in Revelation 21:8 who will be condemned. However, if we remain true to Jesus Christ, and pray to him to help us have strength to deal with all fears, he will help us to "overcome".

Jesus says: "And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations" (Revelation 2:26). I will say it again: as Christians, we can overcome all fears by praying to Jesus, and asking him to deal with them for us. It isn't about having fear and anxiety, it's about how we handle it.

A simple prayer: Lord Jesus, please forgive me for allowing fears to manipulate me. Please forgive me for not dealing with my fears properly. I need you in my life, and I need you to help me overcome this world. Please Jesus, strengthen me through this war. Help me to deal properly with all fear and anxiety. Please teach me how to hand all these things into your hands, for you are surly capable of dealing with them. I know you are the truth, and I know you will help those who truly seek you in their lives! In Jesus name, Amen.
